everyone is stupid. the bible is a story. the people who follow it like a manuel are stupid and the people who fight christians because of their faith are stupid.
everyone stop.

yeah, before anything else i’d like to see some sources. like any other religion, there are some discrepancies between the differently translated versions, so these might be true, but they also might just be made up by some dumb over-zealous atheist who thinks they know shit.
also, the new testament and old testament clash often. that is a commonly known fact. :P

the new testament is supposed to sort of negate the old testament. law wise. case in point: love your enemies. seriously, don’t get caught up in the punishment/revenge thing. that’s where the love part comes in. negation? yes.
and this is a really poorly done chart. use indesign or something man! microsoft paint is so last decade.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. - Matthew 5:17
Firstly, i just want to clarify that the new testament is in no way a negation of the old testament.  Jesus came to fulfill the old testament.  Nothing fancy about that, pretty simple.
I’ll go ahead and address these in reverse order (just cause it’s easier to do it this way as I’m reblogging):
4) To be honest, there is some debate about how this actually went down.  Some suggest that the “kill” in verse 50 essentially was a “as good as dead” moment then, lying there dying in verse 51, Goliath was killed with his own sword.  Others think the sling from verse 50 killed Goliath and that 51’s beheading reiterates the killing of Goliath and the reality of what had happened for the Philistines.  Either the case, how does this compromise the integrity of the Bible?
3) Again this goes with the absolute WORTH of God.  God must punish and despise those who hate the one who is worthy of adoration, namely Himself.  This does not mean He does not love His enemies even then.  Verses like 1 Timothy 2:4, John 3:17, Titus 2:11, 2 Peter 3:9, etc promise God’s whole salvation and forgiveness for those that were still His enemies (Romans 5:10).  But to quote from the ever “rigid” old testament:
Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live? - Ezekiel 18:23
2) This is such an unacademic literary criticism, it hurts to think about it.  Our anger is unjustified.  God, who is the standard of all morality and all goodness, is justified in His wrath against us like David addresses in Psalm 51:4 after his adultery and the murder of Uriah.  If anything, I’m more taken aback by how God chooses NOT to be wrathful.
1) Light doesn’t just come from the sun, seems silly when you think about it huh? We need to realize that God created the physical manifestation of light as we might know it.  As we recognize light, God Himself shines as light as we can see in places like Matthew 17:2.
Then again, you don’t have to be cool with what I have to say, but I offer some repeating advice: DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ.
cheers
